We
are the Life of the Party!
Republican women were organized into chapters across the
United States even before women were allowed the right to vote!
The
Republican Platform of 1872 stated: "The Republican Party is
mindful of its obligation to the loyal women of America for their noble
devotion to the cause of Freedom ...," and the first Republican
Women's chapter formed in Salt Lake City just a few years later.
By
1935, there were hundreds of Republican Women's clubs across the country, with
140 in the State of Indiana alone!
In
1938, the Republican National Committee, meeting at Chicago's elegant Palmer
House, established the National Federation of Republican Women's Clubs.
Republican
Women worked in every state across the union to ratify the 19th Amendment
granting women the right to vote.
Republican
Women have tackled issues of great concern throughout the years, from national
debt to national defense.
In
any given election, Republican Women are on the front lines recruiting strong
candidates, registering voters, making phone calls, sending out mailers,
organizing rallies, campaigning door-to-door, and raising funds.
In non-election seasons, Republican Women throughout the country coordinate charity drives, outreach projects and other civic contributions.
Franklin
County Republican Women...
...share in a great legacy! We are the only
Republican Women's organization in Franklin County affiliated with the National
Federation that was founded in 1938.
We are also the only Republican Women's organization in Franklin County affiliated with the
Tennessee Federation of Republican Women that was founded in 1955.
Our local chapter is the Republican Women's club founded in 1992 with a
proven record for helping Republicans get elected to office and upholding the
values and integrity of the Republican Party.
